For Year 1 teachers: Using the data from the EYFSP (Early Years Foundation Stage Profile) results
|Course code||Keystage(s)||Presented by|
This course will cover:
1. To inform participants about the EYFSP (Early Years Foundation Stage Profile)
2. To consider how the results for children entering Year 1 can be used when planning for their learning and how to optimise their progress.
The EYFSP is the statutory assessment tool used at the end of the reception year. The results are reported nationally to DFE and are passed to the Year 1 teacher by the school.
In terms of effective transition, it is important that the Year 1 teacher understands the assessments made using the Profile, and can plan to move children on in their learning appropriately. This course will consider the important aspects of the Profile and consider the implications for children in Year 1. It will help Y1 teachers to group the children for the beginning of the year and will consider how to make the transition from EYFSP assessment to National Curriculum Assessments in the autumn term of Year1 in a world without levels!
Participants will need to bring the results for their children (from EYFSP at end of Reception) to the course. These results will be obtainable from the current EYFS Teacher.
Headteachers and EYFS/KS1 managers may also find this course useful as it will give an overview of the EYFSP and how it can effectively be built upon at the beginning of KS1.
