Course Objectives

This course will cover:
• Recap on guidance and explore local and national updates to safeguarding practice
• Examine CSPRs and learning points
• Impact of domestic abuse, substance use and parental mental health on children
• Online safeguarding issues
• Case studies and family engagement

This course will cover all of the essentials of DSL training and is aimed at DSLs with significant operational experience of the role. Along with a general recap on roles and responsibilities under the statutory guidance, participants will have opportunity to develop deeper understanding of the most prevalent issues experienced by children in schools in Lancashire and learn from Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews. Delegates will explore specific case studies and ways to engage with families at Early Help where engagement may have been previously difficult.

Schools with a standard SLA receive two course places every two years at no charge. Schools with an enhanced SLA receive two course places every two years plus one additional place per year at no charge. Apply for your place using the online form and LPDS will discount places as applicable.
