Computing in Primary Schools: Year 3 and 4

In this course delegates will:
• Carry out practical activities suitable for Year 3 and 4 that support the computing curriculum such as those for programming, digital literacy, computer networks and creating digital content
• Look at and be provided with information and resources to support assessment and sequence of learning in Year 3 and 4
• Look at resources and materials for teaching computing in lower KS2, including those to support sticky learning
• Discuss the importance and development of computational thinking and unplugged activities in Year 3 and 4.
This course will provide teachers with skills and knowledge to teach computing in Year 3 and 4 in primary schools. There will be practical activity sessions on programming, digital literacy, computer networks and creating digital content such as databases.
