Course Objectives

• To enable mathematics subject leaders to understand the Ofsted judgements in relation to teaching and learning in mathematics.
• To explore how the Examining Teaching and Learning in Maths document can support with self evaluation, action planning and identifying priorities.
• To examine curriculum priorities with regard to intent, implementation and impact.
• To consider an appropriate range of evidence to support self evaluation.

This course provides an opportunity for mathematics subject leaders to update their understanding of the inspection framework in relation to mathematics. It will consider the implications of both general teaching and learning and mathematics subject specific guidance. This course will support subject leaders in developing the confidence to articulate the position of mathematics within their school from a secure evidence base.
