Getting to Grips With Planning a Unit in Maths: Mixed Age Classes for NQTs and LTA Teachers - Online

• This course is aimed at NQTs and LTA teachers working in Year 1 to 6 mixed age classes and aims to support the planning process in mathematics. It will include:
• Exploring mixed age-related expectations in order to select objectives
• Exemplification of the teaching sequence of Assess – Teach – Practice – Apply
• Identification of appropriate progression within mathematical concepts utilising up to date documentation.
This course will provide all the information needed to help plan and teach a cohesive mathematics curriculum within mixed age classes and will discuss effective strategies for assessing children’s learning. The session will cover all areas of the national curriculum for mathematics, supporting teachers with the subject knowledge required for effective planning, teaching, ideas for developing children’s understanding and ways to make links between the different aspects of mathematics.
This course is provided at no charge but is exclusively for NQTs employed in schools who purchase Appropriate Body Services from Lancashire County Council. PLEASE NOTE: NONE ATTENDANCE WILL RESULT IN THE FULL COST OF £165.00 BEING CHARGED IF WE ARE NOT INFORMED BEFORE HAND.
