Course Objectives

This course will cover:
• To develop confidence in teaching and assessing the Lancashire PE and Games units of work at KS1, 2020
• To explore how to teach Character Education and values through the updated PE KS1 units of work
• To explore how the Lancashire SOW can support the intent, implementation and impact of a school's KS1 PE curriculum
• To develop confidence in adapting and differentiating the lesson progressions to meet the children’s learning needs

This course for primary school teachers will help delegates understand how to teach and assess the Lancashire Scheme of work units for KS1.

Teachers will explore how to teach explicitly character education alongside the fundamental movement skills and application of these skills. This course will also help delegates understand how children develop their fundamental movement skills through KS1 and explore how to observe the different development phases.

The resource contains assessment materials which can also be used to monitor and track pupil progress within PE at Key Stage 1.

Each delegate will take away hard copies of the Lancashire PE Scheme of Work for KS1.
