Course Objectives

• To have a deeper understanding of young children's early Speech, Language and Communication development, with a particular focus on listening and attention.
• To support the identification of pupils having difficulty with Listening and Attention skills.
• To develop a range of practical strategies and activities to support children with listening and attention difficulties and how these can be incorporated into continuous provision and 1:1/small group activities

Listening and attention skills are crucial skills to acquire in the EYFS. They are the foundation skills in the building blocks of language and communication development and related difficulties can impact on all areas of learning. This course will help you to identify children who may have attention and listening difficulties and will provide you with a range of practical activities to support their needs.
